Ohio National Life has announced their whole life dividend for the next year. Both rates, the 5.9% rate on the closed block of whole life business and the 6.15% rate on the open block of whole life business (this includes newly issued policies) will remain unchanged.
We've noticed a sizable dip in Ohio National's return on equity over the past year, but this would be expected as a regression to the mean based on their prior years performance that was several times the industry's average.
They maintain a solid interest margin and have one of the highest return on assets. Additionally, they manage some of the lowest expense ratios in the industry.
All in all, great news coming out of Cincinnati and great news on the whole life dividend for policy holders.
